About Evoart & William Smith

Hello there mysterious visitor from the vast realms of the internet — welcome to Evoart! How you found this site doesn’t matter. The important thing is your here now! In as few words as possible Evoart is a blog for website designers written by myself, William Smith.

Whats Evoart all about?

Here you will find weekly articles for website designers about the things we all love — design, CSS, productivity, web standards, clients, tips, advice, tutorials and also many other topics including the brand new ‘Design in the Spotlight’ monthly critique of a splendid looking website thats fresh from production. I do try my best to update Evoart weekly, but don’t hold me to that! Sometimes work commitments prevent me from doing so. If you don’t want to miss out on any of the action please take the time to subscribe to the full RSS feed.

Whos this William Smith chap then?

Picture of William SmithIm the author, founder, designer, and anything else-er of this here website! Im a twenty year old web designer based in Salisbury in the United Kingdom. I won’t go into to much detail, so I’ll leave you to check out my portfolio site for the whole story and to view my work.

When Im not creating websites I like to drum, play Squash, listen to lots of loud music and have even been known to ski with the odd bit of water skiing thrown in.

The Technical Details

Evoart started out as a concept in Photoshop, and was then taken into Wordpress - an excellent open source Content Management System. This site makes use of table-less design, using CSS to seperate content from presentation.

This website is maintained on my 20″ iMac using Dreamweaver CS3 for any structural changes. If you enjoy typography (its an almost an obsession for me, really) then Swiss721 was used for the logotype, Georgia for all headings and Verdana for the main body text. If you have any questions at all, or want to get in touch, please head over to the contact page.
